Mother's Day Special: Heartwarming Recipes to Treat Mum

They say the way to someone’s heart is through their stomach, and when it comes to Mum, that couldn’t be truer. From packing your lunch with love to always offering you a second helping, she’s been the original MasterChef in your life.

This Mother's Day, skip the store-bought card and surprise her with a homemade dish filled with nostalgia, warmth, and a lot of flavour. With TOPS, turning everyday ingredients into something extraordinary is easier than ever… just like Mum always made it look.

Here we’ve curated two heartwarming, soul-satisfying recipes that are as special as she is, with a little help from TOPS, of course.

1. Vanilla Custard & Fruit Layered Cake – Because Mum Deserves Layers of Love

What you’ll need:

●    TOPS Vanilla Instant Cake Mix
●    TOPS Vanilla Custard Powder
●    Mixed fresh fruits (berries, bananas, kiwis – whatever Mum loves!)
●    Whipped cream
●    Milk & sugar

How to make it:

1. Prepare your cake batter using TOPS Vanilla Instant Cake Mix as per the instructions. Bake the cake and let it cool completely.
2. Prepare a silky custard using TOPS Vanilla Custard Powder as per the pack instructions. Let it cool completely.
3. Slice your baked cake horizontally into 2-3 layers.
4. Spread custard on each layer, top it up with chopped fresh fruits and a dollop of whipped cream.
5. Stack the layers, finish with cream, and garnish with more fruits, and a final drizzle of custard.
6. Chill, slice, and serve the love on a plate!

Why she’ll love it: It’s light, creamy, fruity and feels like a sweet hug — just like the ones she gives.

2. Achaari Paneer Tikka Rolls – For the Mum Who Likes It Chatpata

What you’ll need:

●    TOPS Mango Pickle or TOPS Mixed Pickle
●    Paneer cubes
●    Hung curd
●    Spices (turmeric, red chilli powder, garam masala)
●    Wholewheat rotis or paranthas
●    Onions
●    TOPS Mint Sauce
●    TOPS Tomato Ketchup

How to make it:

1.    In a bowl, mix hung curd with a spoonful of TOPS Mango Pickle/ TOPS mixed Pickle (use the masala, not the chunks), add spices, and mix into a marinade.
2.    Toss in paneer cubes, coat well, and let it sit for 30 minutes.
3.    Grill or pan-fry the marinated paneer until golden and aromatic.
4.    Assemble in a soft roti or paratha with onions, a drizzle of TOPS Mint Sauce, and a squeeze of TOPS Tomato Ketchup. Roll it up and serve with extra pickle and mint sauce on the side.

Why she’ll love it: It’s tangy, spicy, and packed with the fresh kick of mint and the rich, balanced sweetness of ketchup, a total flavour bomb that’ll make her day.
